My encouragement to you today is to claim peace even when life is raging. In seasons of high stress or turmoil, we tend to get so distracted by what is happening around us that we forget about peace. It is part of your inheritance as a child of God. This is the Lord giving us his kiss of peace. This is the one who gives his strength and might to his people. They tell us that if we will pray and include God in the aspects of our life, we make space for the peace of God to fill our lives. There is actually a promise in these verses. God is interested in ALL the details of your life. Philippians encourages us to pray about everything. One tool we have to resist worry and claim peace is prayer. Which is actually good news because there are things we can do to combat it. It’s hard to see it that way because we do it so often it is usually an identifying quality, but nevertheless, it is a choice. Tell him every detail of your life, then God’s wonderful peace that transcends human understanding, will make the answers known to you through Jesus Christ. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. ![]() 2 Corinthians 10:6 explains this as taking every thought captive and forcing them to submit to the obedience of Jesus Christ.ĭon’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Every time that worry or care comes back to your mind you remind it that it has been laid at the feet of Jesus and that it is taken care of. Sometimes you’ll have to do this over and over. When you are worried and anxious, you must choose to believe that He is for you and then you tell Him what has you fretting and why and then you trust that He is working on your behalf. You may be wondering, “How do you cast your cares on God?” Great question. Pour out all your worries and stress upon him and leave them there, for he always tenderly cares for you. Whose not interested in more of that? 1 Peter 5:7 Peace is a state of being in which you are at rest even in challenging circumstances. A great first question is, “what is the peace of God?” Well, the Greek word used for peace here means a lot of things like tranquility, harmony, security, safety, and prosperity. Let your heart be always guided by the peace of the Anointed One, who called you to peace as part of his one body. My prayer for you is that regardless of what season you find yourself in, that the peace of God would guard your hearts and minds.
